Beer Tanks

The beer making process is a scientific method, combining art and chemistry, the brewing process requires a number of different tanks to create a product correctly. A proper brewhouse has a mash tun, lauter tun, & boil kettles/whirlpool, or a combination thereof. After cooling via the heat exchanger, the sweet wort is moved to the fermentation tanks. The use of these tanks is key in the beer making process. At Prettech Canada, we manufacture custom, high-quality brewing tanks for a variety of beer producing needs. Our experts will evaluate your space, assessing your brewing needs to find the tank that is best suited for your business. All tanks are jacketed, and setup in the clients’ polishing specifications.

Copper Brewhouse

Copper is one of the more traditional, yet aesthetically-pleasing materials for a brewhouse. A copper brewhouse provides a rustic appeal for the system, but beyond appearance, copper brewhouses transfer heat quickly and evenly. More often than not, the copper is the outer layer of the brewhouse and act as visual aesthetics. 304-grade stainless is the interior workhouse of the majority of copper brewhouses. To really add to the visual appeal of a turnkey brewing system, a 4″ copper ring is banded around the brite tanks & fermentation conical.

Stainless Steel Beer Tanks

Stainless steel beer tanks are the most popular tanks, sized from 8 to 300 + HL. At Prettech, the tanks are made with 304-grade stainless steel, which is selectively chosen from the #1 stainless steel provider in the world. Prettech will only except the top mill and is rigorously tested for consistency & conformity. 304/316-grade stainless steel has many advantages when compared to regular standard lower mill rolls of stainless steel as the high-grade stainless is highly resistant to corrosion and will perform better for extended time periods. Stainless easily forms into different shapes, allowing for highly customizable fermentation conicals & brewhouses.

Two Vessel Brewhouses

A concern of most brewhouses is whether to use a 2 or 3 vessel brewing system. The 3 vessel system is used mostly for aesthetic value, where these “hot houses” are often used for combination brewhouses. A 3 vessel system which is staged in a triangle-shaped system provides a look of grandeur, adding a “wow” factor to your brewhouse.

A 2 vessel combo system with a brew kettle can act as a whirlpool, creating a process that is more streamlined. Space is most often the factor in choosing a 2 vessel system for a brewhouse.
